Is TokenPet really free?

Yes, completely. No in-app purchases, no subscription, no ads. TokenPet is a passion project. Download, enjoy, and keep your wallet closed.

Does TokenPet send my data anywhere?

Never. TokenPet reads JSONL files on your local Mac and never connects to any server. Your token usage, pet data, and usage patterns stay entirely on your device.

Which AI tools does it support?

Currently Claude Code and OpenAI Codex CLI. Support for more tools (Cursor, Copilot) is planned for a future release.

Will it slow down my Mac?

TokenPet is extremely lightweight. It uses ~50 MB of memory and polls for token usage at configurable intervals (1, 5, 10, or 30 minutes). You won't notice it's there.

Can I rename my pet?

Yes! Open Settings in the app to give your companion a custom name. Call it whatever feels right.

What happens if I stop coding for a few days?

Your pet gets hungry and their mood drops, just like a real digital pet. Don't worry — they won't run away. Pick up where you left off and they'll bounce back.
